MEET THE 2024/25 COMMITTEE

Chair
Alice Cutler - BCLP Law
Alice is the Chair of the SHJLD, joining the Committee for the 2024/25 year. Alice is 2 years PQE and works as an Associate in the Real Estate Team for BCLP in Southampton, having trained at a Magic Circle law firm in London. Alice is excited to be taking on the role of Chair and to grow both the number of events and membership of the SHJLD during her tenure.
Outside of work, she loves going for forest walks with her 1 year old Labrador, Otis.

Deputy Chair
George Laidlaw - Womble Bond Dickinson
George joined the SHJLD committee as secretary in 2022 and has been vice chair since 2023. George is a solicitor in Womble Bond Dickinson's commercial real estate team and is based in their Southampton office. George's role on the committee involves supporting across all areas and assisting the chair in the day to day running of the committee.
Outside of work, George is secretary of a local amateur dramatics society (SOS Presents) and enjoys performing musical theatre. They're also a big football fan and a proud season ticket holder of AFC Wimbledon.

Treasurer
Ben Likely - Lester Aldridge LLP
Ben studied his law degree at U.W.E. in Bristol, followed by an LPC LLM at Exeter campus’ University of Law. He then went on to be a paralegal in Real Estate Development for 18 months and is now currently a trainee solicitor involved in various areas of property law and private wealth.
This is Ben's second year on the SHJLD committee, having started as Secretary in the 2023/2024 committee year, and now as treasurer for 2024/2025. Outside of work he tries to travel and tick off as many new countries as possible, soon to hit a personal target of 40!

Events Representative
Toby Prowting - Foot Anstey LLP
Toby is one of the Events Representatives for the SHJLD joining the committee for the 2024/25 year.
Toby is 2 years PQE and works as an Associate in the Real Estate Disputes Team at Foot Anstey LLP in Southampton, having trained at Blake Morgan LLP.
Toby is excited to be building both his Foot Anstey’s profile in the Southampton legal market and beyond, and arranging a number of events throughout the 2024/25 year.
Outside of work, Toby is a fan of Chelsea Football Club and enjoys live music.

Hampshire Law Society Representative
Bella Scally - Warner Goodman LLP
Bella is the Hampshire Law Society Representative for the SHJLD working as a paralegal in the Private Client team at Warner Goodman LLP.
Bella is commencing her SQE journey in January 2025 and looks forward to qualification.
Bella works closely with Hampshire Law Society in her role to provide collaborative events for SHJLD members.
Outside of work, Bella enjoys the gym, walks and running after completing the London Marathon in 2024.

University Representative
Millie Gregory - Churchers Solicitors LLP
Millie is a Trainee Solicitor at Churchers Solicitors LLP in the Wills, Probate and Trusts team.
Millie’s role as the university representative involves organising events and communications with local universities to provide advice and support to undergraduate students and aspiring young lawyers.

Deputy Chair and Social Media & Communications Representative
Anmol Ahluwalia - Lester Aldridge LLP
Anmol is a Commercial Property Solicitor at Lester Aldridge LLP.
Anmol’s role on the committee involves being a support to the chair in running the committee. Anmol also oversees the social media accounts to promote events such was networking, social’s and seminar/workshops.
Outside of work Anmol enjoys going to the gym and walking her Labrador Buddy.

Secretary
Emma Wilbraham - Paris Smith LLP
Emma is excited to be taking the role of secretary for the SHJLD this year. Emma is a Banking and Finance Solicitor at Paris Smith LLP having qualified in 2023 after training with the firm.
As Secretary, Emma is responsible for managing memberships, keeping records of committee meetings and generally assisting the committee with event planning.
Emma likes to travel and spend time with her two kittens.

Lead Events Representative
Megan Peris - Clarke Wilmott LLP
Meg is the Lead Events Representative of the SHJLD. She is a Chartered Legal Executive ( Associate) in the Financial Services Litigation Team at Clarke Willmott LLP. Since joining the SHJLD in 2023, Meg has organised a number of successful and diverse events with both junior lawyers and other professionals, and she is looking forward to organising even more exciting and new events this year.
In her free time, Meg loves fitness, spending time with her family (and adorable cockapoo, Barney) and is a bit of book worm!

Events Representative
Natasha Porter- Eric Robinson Solicitors
Natasha is a Trainee Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team at Eric Robinson Solicitors, currently specialising in contentious trust and estate work.
Natasha is part of the Events team and assists with keeping the SHJLD’s calendar full of fun, inspiring and informative events.
Outside of work, Natasha enjoys spending time with her family and diversifying her arts and crafts practice.

National JLD Representative
Harry Dancer - Trethowans LLP
Harry is a Solicitor in the Commercial Property team at Trethowans and the National Junior Lawyers Division Representative for the SHJLD.
Harry's role involves representing the SHJLD and its members at the Law Society’s National meetings. The National JLD represents junior lawyers across the country, providing members with an opportunity to network and connect with other junior professionals. The National JLD also discuss and lobby on issues that concern and impact upon junior lawyers.

Webinar Representative
Molly Misfud - College Chambers
Molly is a Barrister at College Chambers.
Molly organises webinars and CPD for SHJLD and has been on the committee since 2022 in this role. She hopes this year to host a mini webinar series both on the law in the family arena and civil world and is looking forward to meeting other junior lawyers and potential lawyers.
Having been called to the Bar Molly did pupillage with College Chambers where she has remained and has a practice in all things family. When she is not in Court or organising pupils or charity events for Chambers, Molly spends her time training and competing as a river and offshore rower.
